Patient Rooms

The room that you are in allows us to provide the best care possible to fit your medical needs. If there is a change in your condition that requires a different type of care, we may need to move you to another room. Please speak with your nurse if you have any concerns or questions about possible room relocations.

Private Rooms
We know that if given a choice, most patients would prefer a private room. While there are a limited number of private rooms at Bayshore Community Hospital, most of the rooms are semi-private or shared rooms.

At any time during your stay with us, you may request a private room. We will make every effort to accommodate that request, but please note that private rooms cost more than semi-private rooms and insurance companies may not pay the difference.

Room Cleaning
Your room and bathroom will be cleaned and trash emptied on a daily basis. If you need additional cleaning service, contact our Environmental Services team at extension 5929 or alert your nurse.

Room Transfers
Sometimes, transfers are necessary for medical or logistical reasons.  A patient's medical condition will take precedence in all transfers.  Occasionally,  patients are admitted to a private room because no semi-private rooms are available. They may later be moved to a semi-private room. If a transfer is necessary, we will give you as much notice as we can to make the move as easy as possible.

Personal Items

During your stay, you will need to bring several items with you, including a comb, cosmetics, deodorant, bathrobe, slippers (without heels), a shaving kit, toothbrush, toothpaste, and other supplies and sundries. If you forget anything, our gift shop offers a variety of items that you may need. Unless it is necessary for you to wear a hospital gown, you can wear your own pajamas or nightgown. Please bring your insurance cards, but cash and jewelry are discouraged. You may also want a small, battery-operated radio. Please note, the hospital assumes no responsibility for lost or misplaced items during your stay.

Reading Cart

At your request, our volunteers will bring a selection of books to a patient's room.
