Bayshore Community Hospital Welcomes New Rehabilitation Physiatrist


Holmdel, NJ - Bayshore Community Hospital is pleased to welcome Javier I. Soares-Velez, M.D. to the medical staff. Dr. Soares-Velez joins following his fellowship in Polytrauma/Amputee/MSK Rehab at Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center in Richmond, VA.

Prior to his fellowship, Dr. Soares-Velez completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at VA Caribbean Healthcare System in San Juan, PR. He received his medical degree from Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine in Bayamon, PR.

He is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and specializes in the rehabilitation training of amputee patients, musculoskeletal medicine, and general rehabilitation interventions for musculoskeletal conditions. Additionally, he has expertise in ultrasound evaluations and ultrasound-guided injections of joints, tendons, and peripheral nerves.

Dr. Soares-Velez will have privileges at Bayshore Community Hospital and Riverview Medical Center and joins the office of Jorge Corzo, M.D. He can be reached at his Tinton Falls office at 732-264-1132.
