Accredited by the American College of Radiology, the Breast Care Center provides caring, individualized attention with a staff of registered mammography technologists.  

Range of Services  
Employing the latest technologies in breast care health, the Breast Care Center furnishes the following diagnostic services:  

• Digital Mammography: employs low-dose X-ray screening of the breast, providing immediate viewing of results on a computer monitor, with higher contrast images and better resolution than conventional film mammograms.  
• Ultrasound: uses sound waves to create an image of the tissues inside the breast, often to clarify if lumps are fluid-filled or solid.  
• Breast MRI: this non-invasive procedure utilizes magnetic imaging and radio waves to scan the breast to produce extremely detailed photos, providing more specific information to diagnose conditions.  
• Stereotactic Biopsy: this minimally-invasive procedure uses computer and scanning devices to create a three-dimensional digital image of the target area; then samples of the abnormal tissue are removed, using either a core needle or vacuum assisted device. No stitches are needed and recovery is immediate.  
• Bone Densitometry: measures bone mineral density and is used to diagnose osteoporosis.

Housed in a separate suite within the Ganz Imaging Pavilion at Bayshore, the Breast Care Center offers a soothing and private environment, in addition to a compassionate staff that focuses on comprehensive breast care for each patient. If therapeutic care is needed, convenient consultations are offered with on-staff surgeons, pathologists, oncologists and plastic surgeons who will converge to achieve the optimum outcome for each and every patient.

that computer aided detection technology is used for all mammograms and breast MRI's at Bayshore? This provides radiologists with a "second set of eyes" to assist in the interpretation of the pictures, using a sophisticated, highly sensitive image recognition software.
