Cardiac Catheterization

About Our Cardiac Catheterization Services

The cardiac catheterization lab at Bayshore is a full service “cath” lab that provides patients with diagnostic and minimally-invasive treatments for cardiovascular disorders. Our full service status means that even patients deemed as “high-risk” can be treated right in our facility, without the need to transfer outside.

Patients can now also take comfort in knowing the cardiac catheterization laboratory at Bayshore is now qualified as a Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) hospital, approved to provide primary angioplasty procedures to patients found to be having a heart attack. Primary angioplasty (also referred to as emergency angioplasty) is considered the treatment of choice for people having a heart attack and is an effective intervention used to open clogged arteries and restore blood flow within 90 minutes of a patient’s arrival at the hospital. At Bayshore a call team made up of interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, nurses, and other specialists are now available 24/7, 365 days a year to treat patients found to be having a heart attack.

Additionally, many cardiac patients also having peripheral vascular conditions, this state-of-the art, interdisciplinary laboratory allows patients to be treated for multiple related conditions all in one visit.

Our highly trained team of board certified cardiologists, radiologists, vascular surgeons, and nursing and technical staff, use a sophisticated physiologic hemodynamic monitoring system to track vital signs, heart rhythm, pressures in the heart, and blood circulation during the various cardiovascular procedures:

  • Cardiac Catheterization
  • Carotid Angiography
