About the Foundation
Bayshore Community Hospital Foundation is a separate, non-profit charitable organization, which exists to benefit the programs and services of Bayshore Community Hospital and the patients and families we serve.
Construction is currently underway on two new Cardiac Catheterization/ Endovascular Suites to allow more patients to be treated close to home by board certified interventional cardiologists. Preparation, holding and recovery areas will be expanded to handle the increase in patient volume that will be seen at Bayshore.
Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine
Bayshore Community Hospital’s Center for Wound Healing has received the Center of Distinction Award for the third time, speaking to the strength of our physicians and nursing team in an industry where standards are high. In response to the growing need of wound healing services in our area, Bayshore has relocated its center to a separate building located just down the street from the hospital. This new space includes four treatment rooms and boasts the addition of two hyperbaric chambers, a service that is unique to Bayshore in our area.
Center for Sleep Medicine
2013 saw the relocation and opening of Bayshore’s New Center for Sleep Medicine. Located on Bayshore’s campus, this 3,000 square-foot renovated space houses six beds. Here, patients are monitored for sleep disorders which are indentified as contributors to stroke, hypertension, heart attack and ADHD among children.
The Bayshore Women’s Center provides expert and personalized care for breast health screenings, diagnosis and treatment. From 3D mammography and breast MRI to bone density tests and stereotactic biopsies, the women’s center offers top-level breast care led by board certified radiologists and registered mammography technologists. The center offers private dressing rooms and waiting area and accommodates all schedules with flexible evening and weekend hours. Click here to read Evelyn’s story.
The Emergency Department cares for patients with all degrees of illnesses and injuries 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. With emergency certified physicians and emergency trained technicians, our staff is experienced in treating those in need of emergency care and dedicated to providing the most comprehensive care as efficiently as possible. Bayshore’s Emergency Department also includes a Pediatric Care Center, a separate area geared towards our littlest patients, and a Crisis Center, a secured, therapeutic environment to help calm and ease the concerns of patients experiencing emotional distress.
Bayshore Community Hospital is looking to assist its nursing team members with scholarship opportunities that will enable them to reach their potential, as well as contribute to the high level of patient care for which Bayshore strives. Bayshore believes that education is a lifelong process and that financial barriers may inhibit individuals from reaching their educational goals. Health care is forever changing and nurses need to keep abreast of standards of care to meet the best outcomes for our patients.
