Meridian Health Affiliated Foundations to hold 23rd Annual Health Care Perspectives Luncheon on May 9

New Jersey’s premier corporate networking event provides occasion for health care and business communities to meet in an educational forum

Neptune, NJ - Are you a business owner with questions about how the Affordable Care Act will impact your business? If so, join Meridian Health Affiliated Foundations as they host the 2014 Health Care Perspectives Luncheon on Friday, May 9, at the Ocean Place Resort and Spa in Long Branch from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Al Zager, Esq., of Zager Fuchs, P.C., chairs this educational forum for hundreds of local business leaders to learn about health care issues that have an impact on their companies and communities.

This year's keynote address is titled “Lessons Learned from the Roll-Out of Health Reform in Massachusetts and the Nation, and will be presented by Jon Kingsdale, Ph.D., managing director and co-founder of Wakely Consulting Group in Boston. This discussion will provide insight on the challenges and opportunities for employers, opportunities and threats for the health care systems, and new consumer options on the exchange.

Kingsdale founded the Commonwealth Health Insurance Connector Authority, an independent authority established in 2006 under Massachusetts’ landmark health reform legislation.  He has worked over the past three decades on developing a broad range of innovations in health care financing. As a senior vice president at Tufts Health Plan, he developed new products, provider networks and provider reimbursement arrangements for commercial, Medicaid and Medicare populations. In 2013, he was named to “Health Market’s” Top 10 “The Hill’s” Top 100 list of “People to Watch” for his work on helping states to implement the ACA.

This year’s Event Sponsor is QualCare, Inc. and the Networking Cocktail Hour Sponsor is Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

This event benefits Meridian's not-for-profit hospitals and community health programs in Monmouth and Ocean counties. Please call Michelle Casserly, special events officer, at 732-751-5112 for ticket information or to secure a sponsorship opportunity.
