Bayshore Community Hospital Gets Seal Of Approval From The Joint
Commission On Accreditation Of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO)
Bayshore Community Hospital received full accreditation with no exceptions
during the recent surprise visit from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of
Healthcare Organizations.
"The staff at Bayshore has prepared for continued readiness, while improving in
areas of patient care, "explains Raimonda Clark, president and CEO of Bayshore
Community Health Services." JCAHO's main focus this year was on the National
Patient Safety Goals, but protecting patient safety is always a priority at
Bayshore." The Joint Commission survey is voluntary and accreditation is achieved through
many areas of standard compliance throughout the facility. Bayshore has complied
with the survey in areas such as patient safety, environment of care, infection
control and medical records, to name a few.
The Joint Commission has been accrediting hospitals for more than 50 years. Its
accreditation is a nationwide seal of approval that indicates a hospital meets
high performance standards. An accreditation helps Bayshore improve performance,
raise the level of patient care, and demonstrate accountability in the rapidly
changing health care marketplace.
