Outpatient Services
Overview of Services
From diagnostics to surgical procedures to rehabilitation, Bayshore Community Hospital's outpatient programs provide services to address a continuum of healthcare needs. Whether you require glucose testing, family counseling, or state-of-the-art procedures like capsule endoscopy ("camera in a pill" technology), you'll find what you need at Bayshore.

Among the services offered are:
Cardiac Services — Bayshore Community Hospital's comprehensive cardiac services include such testing as cardiac catheterization, EKGs, stress testing (regular and nuclear), holter monitors, and echocardiograms, designed to detect the presence of structural and functional diseases of the heart and/or coronary arteries. Bayshore also offers cardiac rehabilitation, an exercise program that addresses the overall physical, emotional, and educational needs of cardiac patients before and after surgery, as well as on an inpatient and outpatient basis. All cardiac services require an appointment.
Cardiac Catheterization/Digital Subtraction Angiography Suite — One of the few suites in the country engineered to adapt to radiology as well as cardiology procedures, Bayshore's system is as sophisticated as labs equipped to perform detailed e-vascularization work. In addition to cardiac catherization, specialists are able to provide such advanced services as the recently developed vertebroplasty, a minimally invasive procedure designed to repair compression fractures of the spine.
Counseling — A department of Bayshore Community Hospital, Bayshore Counseling Center focuses on helping clients deal with a variety of substance abuse and mental health issues, as well as providing individual, family, and group counseling. It is located off-site, at 668 N. Beers St., Holmdel.
Diagnostic Imaging — Bayshore offers complete diagnostic capabilities for inpatients and outpatients. These services encompass a full range of radiologic and nuclear diagnostic services, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), CT scan, angiography, GI series, myelograms, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, and X-ray.
Laboratory — A full-service clinical lab, Bayshore Community Hospital's Laboratory provides services including hematology, chemistry, coagulation, blood banking, therapeutic drug monitoring, microbiology, pathology, urinalysis, and serology. No appointment is required, except for glucose tolerance testing and bleeding times.
Medical Day Stay — A unit intended for individuals who are receiving hospital procedures that don't require a hospital day, Medical Day Stay includes such services as blood transfusions, IV infusions, chemotherapy, phlebotomy, insertion of pacemakers, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and plasmapheresis. All procedures require appointments and typically are scheduled by your physician. Patients report to the Admitting Office on the day of the procedure.
Minor Surgery — Minor Surgery procedures are performed in the unit, rather than the hospital's Operating Rooms; they do not require hospital stays or lengthy in-hospital recovery times. In general, patients have local anesthesia, undergo their procedure, and are able to leave the hospital right away. These services include some pain management procedures.
Pre-Admission Testing — Approximately one week to 10 days before surgical or other procedures requiring pre-admission testing, hospital representatives will contact all Same-Day Surgery or Minor Surgery patients to schedule appointments for this testing.
Rehabilitation — Bayshore's Rehabilitation Services include occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, audiology, cardiac/pulmonary rehabilitation, electroencephalograms (EEGs), electromyograms (EMGs), and evoked potentials (EPs).
Respiratory Services — In addition to inpatient care, Bayshore's respiratory therapy department provides outpatient services, including pulmonary function testing and arterial blood gases. Appointments are required and can be scheduled by calling (732) 739-5961.
Same-Day Surgery — This service includes a range of surgical procedures that do not require an overnight stay in the hospital. Appointments are required and are scheduled by your physician's office. To find out more, visit Patient Information.
