Bayshore Scores Well In Statewide Performance Report
Bayshore Community Hospital is proud to see its excellent scores for quality of care standards, as measured in the sixth annual New Jersey 2009 Hospital Performance Report. The report includes performance measures for heart attack, pneumonia, and congestive heart failure.

Bayshore’s Overall scores rank in top 10% of NJ hospitals for surgical care. Within the category of surgical care improvement scores, Bayshore received a score of 100 in treatments used to prevent blood clots and prophylaxis ordered, blood sugar control, safe hair removal, and a score of 99 in starting preventive antibiotics.

Within the category of heart attack treatment, Bayshore’s scores rank in the top 10% of NJ hospitals for providing aspirin at discharge, beta blocker at discharge, ACE Inhibitor or ARB (angiotensin receptor blocker) at discharge, smoking cessation advice, all receiving 100 score.

Within the category of pneumonia treatment, Bayshore ranked 98 overall, and within the pneumonia category scored 100 for oxygenation assessment and smoking cessation advice, and a 99 for pneumonia vaccination and antibiotic timing.
