The Vassar Eye Center at Bayshore — one of the many FREE services provided by the Hospital — is always reaching for ways to improve the quality of life for people experiencing declining sight or blindness.

The Center's latest achievement is its success in bringing to New Jersey the first movie theater with Audio Vision — a descriptive, oral commentary of plot, action and characters. It is another resource added to the dozens explained in the complimentary kit given to each guest at the Center.

Audio Vision is a feature in many stage productions in the area of presenting plays, comedies and musicals. To find out about other helpful programs, and the extraordinary equipment and aids designed specifically to maintain the independence of a person losing the ability to see clearly, visit the Vassar Eye Center located inside Bayshore Community Hospital.

Three trained volunteers are on duty every Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to assist visitors.
